REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

ISTOCNO SARAJEVO – Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik today laid a wreath at the memorial to the former Russian Ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, in Istocno Sarajevo, stressing that this Russian diplomat did not stand in defense of the Serbian people only, but was sincerely committed to peace in the world and protection of interests of the Russian Federation. Dodik has said that Churkin was not the man who rooted only for Serbs, but for international law as well, which is the basic characteristic of foreign policy of the Russian Federation.

BANJALUKA – The Deputy Speaker of the Republika Srpska Parliament, Nenad Stavandic, says that BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektic is trying to put the judgment on Srebrenica in the context of Holocaust, which is unprecedented in the history of Srpska, and announced that the Republika Srpska Parliament will condemn the policy of demonization of its people and institutions.

PALE – The president of the Pale Veterans’ Organization, Mihajlo Paradjina, most vehemently condemned the statement by BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektic that “the Serbs must pass catharsis and recognize genocide in Srebrenica,” stressing that veterans’ organizations direct criticism at all officials who act contrary to the interests of Serbs and Republika Srpska.

BANJALUKA – The Head of the SNSD Caucus in the Republika Srpska Parliament, Radovan Viskovic, most vehemently condemned the statement by BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektic that “the Serbs should recognize genocide in Srebrenica and pass catharsis,” stressing that there is no justification for such a position.

BANJALUKA – Miroslav Brckalo, a PDP member of the Republika Srpska Parliament, has said commenting on the statement by BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektic that “genocide was committed in Srebrenica,” that politicians must take care of what they are saying and how their statements are conveyed to the public.

BANJALUKA – The Head of the DNS Caucus in the Republika Srpska Parliament, Spomenka Stevanovic, has told SRNA that everybody knows that from the legal point of view a crime, and not genocide, was committed in Srebrenica. Commenting on the statement by BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektic that “the Serbs must pass catharsis and recognize genocide in Srebrenica,” Stevanovic has said that “the Serbian and other peoples in BiH certainly need catharsis.”

BANJALUKA – The president of the Socialist Party /SP/, Petar Djokic, has said that the statement by BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektic that “genocide was committed in Srebrenica” is detrimental and has already caused controversies and great condemnation by Republika Srpska.


ISTOCNO SARAJEVO – The president of the Veterans’ Association Beli Vukovi, Janko Seslija, says that BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektic by his statements that “the Serbs committed genocide in Srebrenica” is only “fanning the fire.”



BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA

ZAGREB – Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said in Zagreb that Belgrade is of the opinion that Serbs and Croats have a good relationship in BiH and that he would like such a relationship to be established with the Bosniak community as well.

SARAJEVO – The Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency, Bakir Izetbegovic, and the Serbian Ambassador to BiH, Stanimir Vukicevic, agreed today in Sarajevo that the relations between BiH and Serbia are gradually improving, but that there is much room for improvement of bilateral cooperation.

SARAJEVO – If the trend of an increased influx of illegal migrants continues, more than 754 migrants could be registered in BiH in the first two months of the year, which is the number of migrants registered during the whole last year, said the director of the BiH Border Police, Zoran Galic.

BELGRADE – Great Serbian actor Nebojsa Glogovac was buried today in the Alley of Meritorious Citizens at the New Cemetery in Belgrade.


REGION

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic agreed today in Zagreb that the two countries should attempt to resolve the disputed border issue in bilateral negotiations in the next two years, and in case a settlement is not reached, they should go before an arbitration court.

BELGRADE – Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that during his meeting with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic there was a discussion about war reparations at Plenkovic’s request.

BELGRADE – The Coordination of Serbian Associations of Families of Missing and Killed Persons from the Area of the Former Yugoslavia /the Serbian Coordination/, has welcomed a meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic and their intention to resolve the issue of missing persons, one of the most painful open issues. /end/sg
