REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJALUKA - The National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted the reviewed 2018 budget as a matter of urgency on Wednesday, which is BAM87 million bigger than the initial budget and mainly focuses on investments.

BANJALUKA - President Milorad Dodik submitted a reply to the National Assembly Inquiry Committee, which is supposed to review all facts regarding the death of David Dragicevic, referring the Committee to the police and judicial authorities for the purpose of gathering information in order to review all relevant facts regarding the case.

BANJALUKA - Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic points out the Government is committed to enforcing the measures that will contribute to additional fiscal stability and improving the economic and business environment in Republika Srpska.

BANJALUKA - Minister of Education and Culture Dane Malesevic stated Wednesday that a work codenamed A8888 received a BAM15,000 award for a conceptual design of the Memorial Centre in the Donja Gradina Memorial.

BANJALUKA - The Public Health Institute of Republika Srpska has procured and distributed a sufficient amount of a 5-in-1 combination vaccine for all health centres in the Entity which ran out of the vaccine over the past several days, Institute spokesperson Milka Mrdja told Srna.

BANJALUKA - Police seized a certain amount of cocaine, heroin, speed, marijuana, and cutting agents as well as fire weapons and ammunition and a major amount of money in an operation code-named Arsenal in Banjaluka on Wednesday, when seven people were arrested while two others are still at large, reported the Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs.

SREBRENICA - US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Maureen Cormack separately met with the speaker of the Srebrenica parliament Alija Tabakovic on Wednesday after meeting with Mayor of Srebrenica Mladen Grujicic, his deputy Nermin Alivukovic and deputy speaker of the municipal assembly Radomir Pavlovic.

ISTOCNO NOVO SARAJEVO - Mayor of Istocno Novo Sarajevo Ljubisa Cosic stated on Wednesday that his local community is making huge steps forward and that the number of people coming to live in the town is constantly increasing.

BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

SARAJEVO - BiH House of Peoples Chair Ognjen Tadic told Srna that language is an integral, if not an elementary part of a people’s identity and that everyone who holds a political position should respect the identity of the people they represent.

SARAJEVO - Since the beginning of the year, more than 4,200 migrants have entered Bosnia and Herzegovina and are still arriving, while more than 3,000 have applied for asylum in the country this year, that is, submitted a request for international protection, head of the Service for Alien Affair Slobodan Ujic told Srna.

FEDERATION OF BiH

SARAJEVO - The Serbs in the Federation of BiH are practically endangered, especially in certain Cantons, in the most brutal manner through the highest legal acts, Nedim Ademovic, the legal representative of the FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalic, told the Entity Constitutional Court in response to Novalic’s request for review of constitutionality of certain provisions of four Cantons’ constitutions against the BiH and FBiH constitutions.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic says no one threatens Serbia or himself over the proposal of the US and the strongest Western countries for the Kosovo issue and adds that Belgrade receives some sort of pressure to recognise Kosovo on a daily basis.

BELGRADE - Political ties between China and Serbia have reached a historical high thanks to a high level of cooperation in all areas, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated during a meeting with a delegation of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress on Wednesday.

BELGRADE - The family and friends of Borislav Mikelic, the former prime minister of the Republic of Serbian Krajina, paid their respects to the late politician and businessman at the New Cemetery in Belgrade on Wednesday. Mikelic will be buried in his home village of Dobrilje outside Kostajnica in Bosnia on Thursday. /end/ds
