BANJALUKA - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik says the upcoming general elections have to be held under fair and sound conditions, vowing he will not allow anyone to produce any emergencies that would annul the elections.

BIJELJINA - President Milorad Dodik is attending a liturgy in Bijeljina conducted in the St George’s Church in honour of the city’s patron saint’s day, St Pantheleimon.

BANJALUKA - The greatest and most humane project of Republika Srpska is the housing programme for families of fallen veterans and disabled veterans from category 1 through category 4, which has so far provided permanent accommodation to 8,260 families and spent over BAM150 million for the purpose, says the Ministry of Labour and Veterans’ Affairs which is headed by Minister Milenko Savanovic.

BANJALUKA - A preliminary, independent public poll carried out in late July on a sample of 3,209 respondents in Republika Srpska shows that 40.2 per cent would support the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats /SNSD/, twice as many as those who would vote for the Serbian Democratic Party /20.3 per cent/.

BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

SARAJEVO - The Service for Foreigners’ Affairs has registered 10,317 irregular migrants in Bosnia and Herzegovina since January, including 9,524 who expressed an intention to seek asylum.

BANJALUKA - The view by Minister of Security Dragan Mektic that migrants pose no danger in BiH is absolutely wrong, says Dusanka Majkic, an SNSD deputy in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

SARAJEVO - The BiH Court has annulled a decision appointing Belma Skalonjic as the Council of Ministers representative to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and Sandra Malesic as her deputy since it found that they had not met the requirements for the positions.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on September 15 and the main topic of their talks will be resolving the Kosovo issue, reports the Vecernje Novosti daily.

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajic points out that as regards resolving the Kosovo issue, a tragicomic situation is now at hand as the President of self-declared Kosovo Hashim Thaci has started talking about a division of central Serbia.

BELGRADE - Belgrade will in its dialogue with Pristina about a comprehensive solution insist on a special position of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija and seek a special treatment for more than 44 temples as well as for memorials, reports the Vecernje Novosti daily.

BELGRADE - Six out of 13 members of the Croatian football fan group Torcida have made a deal with prosecution, pleading guilty in exchange for parole and deportation from Serbia in order to be released on probation. /end/ds
