BANJALUKA - President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and Governor of Saint Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko will address politicians, business people and public figures of Republika Srpska in Banjaluka on Friday.

BANJALUKA - Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic has told Srna that the “statement by the Serb member of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanic that Serbia should not meddle in the elections in Republika Srpska is very impudent.”

BELGRADE - Political analyst Dragomir Andjelkovic says it seems cynical when BiH Presidency member Mladen Ivanic calls out Belgrade and accuses Serbia of meddling in the affairs of Republika Srpska and BiH.

BANJALUKA - Minister of Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation Zlatan Klokic says a conference will soon be held in Banjaluka to emphasise new challenges faced by the Srpska business sector and propose solutions for overcoming them.

SOKOLAC - A wreath-laying ceremony at the Mali Zejtinlik military cemetery in Sokolac and a commemoration at the Monastery of St George the Great Martyr at Ravna Romanija in memory of 4,500 killed, captured or disappeared people from the Sarajevo and Romanija region will mark the Day of Fallen and Missing Veterans and Civilians of Republika Srpska /September 15/ on Friday.

UGLJEVIK - A commemoration was held for five fallen veterans and two civilian casualties of the 1990s war in the local community of Mezgraja Gaj near Ugljevik, whose names were inscribed in the memorial there.

ISTOCNO SARAJEVO - A driver sitting in the front passenger seat on a bus which was taking students of the Istocna Ilidza secondary school on an excursion, died in a traffic accident in Italy on Friday morning, while none of the students are in a life threatening condition, school principal Branka Kovacevic told Srna.

ISTOCNO SARAJEVO - Mayor of Istocno Sarajevo Nenad Vukovic told Srna that the city has ensured absolute stability, both political and financial, and that the business year ended with a surplus in the budget. “Organisation of the European Youth Winter Olympics Festival 2019 has not been an easy task, but we managed to unite all institutions and we are all working on holding the EYOOF 2019. That’s one of the most positive projects in the post-war period when it comes to winter sports here,” said the mayor.

PRIJEDOR - Mayor of Prijedor Milenko Djakovic signed an agreement on the construction of a sports hall in Omarska worth BAM580,000.

BANJALUKA - Foundation of the Russian-Serbian Centre in Banjaluka will be consecrated on Monday, September 17 as planned even though Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov postponed his visit for Friday, priest Radojica Zagran, secretary of Bishop Jefrem of Banjaluka, told Srna on Friday.

TREBINJE - A group of voluntary blood donors of Elektro-Hercegovina from Trebinje donated 42 doses of blood to the local Transfusion Medicine Service.

UGLJEVIK - A group of voluntary blood donors called “Perika Neskovic” from the Ugljevik local community of Mezgraja Gaj organised an annual blood donation campaign and collected 39 doses of blood which were handed over to the Bijeljina Blood Transfusion Institute.

BIJELJINA - Fifteen illegal migrants were found in the City Park in Bijeljina on Friday morning, the city’s Police Administration reported.

BANJALUKA - Twelve migrants have been found in the area of responsibility of the Gradiska Police Administration. Police found six persons in the Obala vojvode Stepe Street at 6.30 a.m. on Friday and established they came from Iraq. The Police Administration reports that six more migrants, also from Iraq were detected in the settlement of Gasnica.

SARAJEVO - A commemoration in the church of Sts Peter and Paul in Bosanski Petrovac will be held on Friday in tribute of 296 Serb civilians killed 23 years ago in Operation Sana 95.

2018 ELECTIONS

BANJALUKA - Zeljka Cvijanovic, a candidate of the SNSD-DNS-SP coalition for president of Republika Srpska told a rally in the Banjaluka Paprikovac neighbourhood on Wednesday that she was certain of the SNSD and coalition partners’ election victory because they took care of Republika Srpska and its citizens, asserting that it was the policy of victory, unlike the other side’s policy of betrayal.

FOCA - Alliance for Change candidate for president of Republika Srpska Vukota Govedarica stated at a rally in Foca that natural resources must be used for development.

BANJALUKA - Gojko Klickovic, a candidate of the First SDS party for Serb member of the BiH Presidency, said his party’s programme contains the measures that will prevent youth from leaving Republika Srpska, and that those are economic development and improved education system.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic says that if an agreement with Pristina is ever reached, Serbia should receive clear assurances that it will become a member of the EU in 2025.

ZAGREB - Croatian historian Hrvoje Klasic points out that Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic speaks untruthfully when she claims that Croats in Yugoslavia, who had their own republic in that state as well as national and republic symbols, were under threat in the former country. /end/ds
