BANJALUKA, September 19 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Interior Minister Dragan Lukac has said that his Ministry is a professional structure which will enable Republika Srpska citizens to exercise their rights unhindered and in a democratic manner.


Lukac and the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH, Bruce Berton, spoke in Banjaluka about the current security situation in Republika Srpska, with particular focus on the upcoming elections in BiH and public gatherings, says a press release from the Republika Srpska Interior Ministry.

Berton praised engagement of police officers in shedding the light on the attack on journalist Vladimir Kovacevic.

They said that the cooperation between the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior and the OSCE was successful, particularly because of workshops and training on the subject of the fight against corruption, prejudices and hate crimes.

They also discussed the participation of Ministry representatives in the implementation of the project titled “building capacities for experts on suppression of cyber crime and cyber-related crimes in the system of criminal judiciary,” training on the subject “public gatherings” and the participation in a conference on “media and terrorism” held on Mount Jahorina on September 1-2, which was organized by the OSCE. /end/sg
