DODIK AND VUKOVIC DISCUSS MARKING ANNIVERSARY OF EXODUS OF SERBS FROM SARAJEVO

ISTOCNO SARAJEVO, March 15 /SRNA/ - The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, spoke on Friday with Istocno Sarajevo Mayor Nenad Vukovic about the marking of the 23rd anniversary of the exodus of Serbs from Sarajevo.

Dodik and Vukovic said that this was one of the most distressing events in the history of Republika Srpska since Sarajevo Serbs were forced to leave their ancestral homes after several difficult years during which they managed to defend their homes in the patriotic-defense war as they did not want to live with those who rejected them then like they are rejecting them today, 23 years after the exodus.

Dodik and Vukovic agreed that this claim is confirmed by the current situation in the FBiH where Serbs, 23 years after the war, are second class citizens, says a press release from the office of the Chairman of the BiH Presidency.

Dodik and Vukovic stressed that this was an extremely difficult moment for 120,000 Sarajevo Serbs, but that we should respect their decision as they thus demonstrated that they have trust in Republika Srpska and freedom.

A central event marking the 23rd anniversary of the exodus of Serbs from Sarajevo will be organized on Saturday in Sokolac and Pale. /end/sg
