SARAJEVO, April 15 /SRNA/ - The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, and Presidency member Šefik Džaferović met with Polish President Andrzej Duda on Monday in Sarajevo. They expressed the conviction that the meeting will provide foundations for further strengthening of cooperation in all fields, particularly in the economy.

Duda said Poland strongly supports BiH’s European path and that it will continue providing support in next phases of accession to the EU, says a press release from the BiH Presidency.

It was said at the meeting that relations between BiH and Poland are good and without open issues, and that they represent a foundation for the development of overall bilateral relations.

It was also said that additional efforts are needed in order to increase mutual trade and cooperation in infrastructure projects of mutual interest.

The press release says that by its engagement in the Višegrad Group and other initiatives and organizations, Poland provided strong political support to BiH in the process of accession to the EU.

BiH Presidency members informed Duda of the political situation in the country and reiterated their commitment to the country’s European path and continuation of the reform process with the aim of creating more favorable conditions for accelerated economic development.

They expressed the hope that the European Commission’s opinion will be positive, and that the EU member states will grant BiH candidate status as soon as possible since the EU candidate status would bring new dynamics on the country’s European path and opportunities for new development projects, says the press release.
