ŽUNIĆ: MORE POLICE NEEDED ON THE GROUND

BANJALUKA, June 25 /SRNA/ - Head of the SNSD caucus in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Igor Žunić says Republika Srpska should have more police officers on the ground because Bosnia and Herzegovina has a problem with migrants and bad weather.

"Every police officer on the ground is valuable and we must not produce fear from police. Security has to be our motive and one of the requirements for this is high-quality police. We have to strengthen the police and what we call it is not that important,” Žunić told the National Assembly during a discussion on the bill on amendments to the Law on Police and Internal Affairs.

Articles related to the formation of a reserve police force have been erased from the bill on amendments to the Law on Police and Internal Affairs.

The session of the National Assembly was disrupted on Tuesday evening and will resume on Wednesday with a discussion of the bill on amendments to the Law on Public Order.

MPs will also discuss the bill on amendments to the Law on Weapons and Ammunition.

Another piece of legislation on the agenda is the bill on amendments to the Law on Profit Tax, bill on amendments to the Law on Insurance Companies, bill on amendments to the Law on Internal Financial Transactions and bill on amendments to the Law on to the Law on Fiscal Registers.

The session is scheduled to resume at 10.00 a.m. /end/dš
