ČANKOVIĆ: THE VAST MAJORITY OF SERBS’ ARE AGAINST NATO

BANJA LUKA, JULY, 11 /SRNA/ - The signing of a petition against membership of BiH into NATO represents support for the official policy of the Chairman of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik about not participating of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Srpska into this military alliance, as well as the decision of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska on its military neutrality, said Dane Čanković president of the Serb National Movement "Choice is Our".

On Krajina Square in Banja Luka, where today in the organization of this movement began the signing of the petition "Signing against joining NATO - For Peace in the region", Čanković has said reporters that the vast majority of the Serbs are against NATO.

He has said that the signing of this petition will be extended to the entire Republika Srpska during the summer, and after collecting signatures of citizens the petition will be addressed to all institutions of Srpska and BiH, and international organizations.

"In this way, we want to send the voice of the ordinary man to the public, the voice of the people, and we hope that it will reverberate and that it will come to those centers of power, above all Anglo-Saxon who, with their constant politics ‘divide and conquer’, want to bring conflicts and hatred between Serb and Bosniak people" Čanković said.

He has added that these centers encourage Bosniak’s politicians to impose a law banning the denial of genocide in Srebrenica, which the Serb people will never accept.

"There was no genocide in Srebrenica, but a crime, and every Serb is sorry to have come to that. However, the crimes had occured on all sides and we express regret for all the innocent victims. It should be a warning to us not to go into the trap of Anglo-Saxon policy", Čanković said.

Security expert DŽevad Galijašević, who supported this action, has told reporters that everyone should support the idea that BiH should be neutral as Austria and Serbia and not to join NATO. /end/bo
