BIJELJINA, August 21 /SRNA/ - The enterprise Elektro-Bijeljina and the local consortium Telegroup signed a BAM22.5 million contract on Wednesday in Bijeljina that aims to reconstruct the regional power grid. Elektro-Bijeljina acting director Vaso Arsenović has said BAM15 million from a loan provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development /EBRD/ and BAM7.5 million from the company’s funds will be invested in the medium- and low-voltage network. The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Đokić, who pointed out that Republika Srpska keeps investing in its energy sector as the most important aspect of development.

SREBRENICA, August 21 /SRNA/ - Srebrenica Mayor Mladen Grujičić told Srna on Wednesday that an illegal installation of a Bosniak memorial plaque today on the building of a former police station in Srebrenica was deserving of every condemnation and that this showed that Bosniak associations are trying to belittle the sufferings of Serbs in the past war at any cost. Representatives of Bosniak associations that emerged after the 1990s war in BiH installed a memorial plaque on Wednesday on the old police station in Srebrenica where, according to them, their fellow citizens were killed at the beginning of the war and in July 1995.

RUDO, August 21 /SRNA/ - Start-up packages for 65 small beekeepers and beginners in the beekeeping business from the municipality of Rudo were delivered on Wednesday with the aim of improving honey production, especially in young and new beekeepers. The start-up packages were donated within a project that aims to develop competitiveness in rural areas, which is funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development /IFAD/ and carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Beekeepers’ Association Medovina and municipality Rudo.

BANJALUKA, August 21 /SRNA/ - PDP leader Branislav Borenović and Italian Ambassador to BiH Nicola Minasi agreed in a meeting in Banjaluka that priority is to seek solutions that can reduce youth drain and elect representatives at all levels who are willing to work responsibly and in the interest of citizens.

FOČA, August 21 /SRNA/ - The Zelengora blueberry and cranberry, jam made from mountain apples and other meals prepared from autochthonous products in the Foča area might become part of a catalogue of tastes of the international organisation Slow Food, which promotes traditional food, healthy food producers stated in Foča on Wednesday.
