VIŠKOVIĆ CALLED ON DIRECTORS OF 18 FORESTRY COMPANIES TO RESIGN

BANJALUKA, September 12 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković called on directors of 18 forestry companies which have negative business results to resign, since it is the aim of institutions to stabilize companies of the Šume Srpske Forest Company, which in the first six months of the year had had losses of BAM 2.6 million.

After a Government’s thematic session on Thursday in Banjaluka, where a report on the state of affairs in forestry in Republika Srpska was reviewed, Višković told reporters that the Government had adopted conclusions aimed at stabilizing the Šume Srpske Company.

“I expect public companies to produce positive business results and for Republika Srpska to benefit from them, that is, that they pay dividends,” Višković said.

He has said that the management of Šume Srpske is under scrutiny and that Government’s conclusions, including the one saying that the company must have positive business results, must be implemented.

Republika Srpska Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Boris Pašalić says that the existing problems in Šume Srpske must be resolved, even though a certain number of forest companies have negative business results and too many employees.

Director of Šume Srpske Slaven Gojković has said that the Government gave full support to the managing and monitoring boards of the company, and to the relevant Ministry, in resolving the existing problems.

He has said that directors of some forestry companies could be dismissed in the coming period, noting that “Romanija”, “Sokolac”, “Vrbanja” Kotor Varos and another 16 forestry companies have negative business results. /end/sg
