MESSAGE SENT TO INZKO THAT BOTH SERBS AND BOSNIAKS SUFFERED IN SREBRENICA

SREBRENICA, DECEMBER 13 /SRNA/ - The Srebrenica Organization of Families of Captured and Killed Serb Soldiers and Missing Civilians today sent a message to High Representative to BiH Valentin Inzko that both Serbs and Bosniaks suffered in Srebrenica and that a law on genocide against Bosniaks cannot be imposed without including the suffering of Serbs in it.

“Prompted by Inzko’s statement that he will resort to the Bonn powers and introduce a law banning the negation of genocide, we ask him if he thinks he can punish every veteran, every person who lost a part of their body, every mother who lost her child, every child who lost a parent, who think that there was no genocide?” asks the Organization in a press release.

The press release says that members of the Srebrenica Organization of Families of Captured and Killed Serb Soldiers and Missing Civilians clearly and loudly say that no genocide was committed in Srebrenica.

“Did Inzko think about who killed more than 3,500 Serbs in Podrinje? Is there any law for that genocide? Is the fact that Naser Orić is free genocide, is the fact that Elfeta Veseli was sentenced to only 13 years in prison for the monstrous murder of a child genocide?” these are but some of the questions Inzko was asked by Serbian families whose loved ones were killed and went missing.

The Organization asks Inzko if he intends to put the whole Serbian people on trial and send them to serve a life in prison in order to revenge his predecessors.

The press release asks Inzko who was killing Serbs and who will be held accountable for thousands of Serb civilians killed in Podrinje or does he intend to force Serb families whose loved ones were captured or killed to think as he thinks.

“We publicly tell him that he cannot force us to keep quiet, he cannot ban us from telling the truth since he is not the one who will tailor history to his liking,” says the press release.

The Srebrenica Organization of Families of Captured and Killed Serb Soldiers and Missing Civilians says that Inzko can do “whatever he likes in his state, and here, his mandate is something else and the Serbian people will never accept his arbitrariness and imposition of discriminatory laws as it is the science that should determine the character of the war and the scope of suffering of all the peoples, and not the high representative and few corrupt and biased judges at The Hague,” says the press release.

Inzko earlier told BHRT that the Office of the High Representative is working on a law banning the negation of genocide which, if not passed by the BiH Parliament, could be imposed. /end/sg
