BANJALUKA, APRIL 9 /SRNA/ - The first contingent of medical equipment and aid for the fight against the coronavirus outbreak was delivered today from Russia at Mahovljani Airport in Banjaluka.


Three airplanes with medical equipment and materials which Russia donated to Republika Srpska landed today at the airport, and a team of Russian medical experts who will be at the disposal of the University Clinical Center in Banjaluka also arrived.

The Russian equipment and aid, which arrived on special flights, were welcomed by Serb BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik, Republika Srpska President Željka Cvijanović, Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković and Deputy Defense Minister in the Council of Ministers Mirko Okolić.

It was earlier said that Dodik had asked Russian President Vladimir Putin for aid in medical equipment and means for curbing the spread of the coronavirus epidemic and that he also had spoken with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov about the current epidemiological situation in Srpska. /end/sg
