BANJALUKA, APRIL 9 /SRNA/ - Serb BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik has said that the aid that today arrived from the Russian Federation is immeasurable.

"We know that the Russian Federation also is facing the coronavirus outbreak, but its desire to help us was not lacking,” Dodik told reporters at Banjaluka Airport where he and other Republika Srpska officials welcomed the first shipment of aid from Russia.

Dodik thanked Russia, President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador to BiH Petr Ivantsov, who worked with the Republika Srpska authorities on getting this aid.

“They told us that premises or open space disinfected by these people look like there was no the coronavirus there. It is very important to disinfect everything,” Dodik said.

He suggested that the FBiH and its leadership ask institutions of the Russian Federation for help.

“I publicly say that I will support such a request and will call certain people so that this be done in the Federation as well. It is important that such experts enter health institutions in the FBiH hit by the coronavirus. They must have the initiative and it is the problem here. The Russian side decides to whom it will give aid. They said that the aid was coming here at the request of Republika Srpska. If the FBiH and its bodies want, they should write a request and I will use the same channels to ask that aid be provided to them as well,” Dodik said.

He has added that Russian experts will meet with people from Srpska to draft a plan of action.

“These are members of the Russian Federation Army and they can act only on orders. The order they received from the highest officials was to go to Republika Srpska. Now they should get an order to go to the FBiH as well. If they could go to Italy and many other places, I don’t see a reason why they couldn't help the FBiH as well,” Dodik said. /end/sg
