BUDGET REBALANCE FOR 2020 ADOPTED

BANJA LUKA, MAY 23 / SRNA / - The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska adopted today, by urgent procedure, the Budget Rebalance for this year in the amount of 3.613 billion BAM, which is an increase for 188 million BAM.

Budget revenues are estimated at 2.757 billion BAM by the end of the year, which is less by 240 million BAM, said earlier the Minister of Finance of the Republika Srpska Zora Vidović.

She has stated that the total increase in expenditures amounts to 229.2 million BAM, and a deficit of 412 million BAM is planned by the end of the year.

In her closing argument, Vidović has said that there was no epidemic of the coronavirus so that the Republika Srpska would not have the need to borrow on the foreign market, but that it could be done on the domestic market.

"The budget of Republika Srpska cannot withstand such severe blows. None of the country can withstand such severe economic blows as a consequences of the coronavirus. I do not agree with the estimations of some deputies that Republika Srpska has no reserves, because if it did not have them, it would certainly not have been able to pay for this until now", Vidović pointed out.

The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska adopted the Law on Amendments to the Law on Execution of the Budget of the Republika Srpska for 2020 by urgent procedure.

Opposition MPs did not attend the vote on the final items on the agenda. /To be continued/bo
