BANJALUKA - Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nedeljko Cibrlovic and Chinese Ambassador to BiH Ji Ping have agreed that it is necessary to strengthen cooperation with Chinese financial institutions when it comes to the implementation of infrastructure projects in Republika Srpska.

BANJALUKA - Srdjan Rajcevic, the minister of science and technology, higher education and information society of Republika Srpska, signed contracts on Dr Milan Jelic Fund scholarships today in Banjaluka with the most successful students for 2018/2019 academic year; 121 contract in the first study cycle, 14 contracts in the second and 8 in the third.

SAMAC - The Government of Republika Srpska has supported with BAM 5,000 the most massive project "Get Children of Kosovo and Metohija and Republika Srpska together", organised by the Committee for Assistance to Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, which will be implemented this year between June 16 and 23, Committee Head Milorad Arlov told SRNA.

BANJALUKA - Minister of Family, Youth and Sports of Republika Srpska Sonja Davidovic announced today in Banjaluka that the line ministry will organise a session of the Republika Srpska Council on Demographic Policy on Wednesday, February 20, which will actively participate in the development of the Srpska Demographic Development Strategy for the next period.

PRIJEDOR - The Agency for Certification, Accreditation and Health Care Improvement of Republika Srpska handed over the certificate to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Service of the Prijedor Hospital "Dr Mladen Stojanovic" confirming that the institution has been accredited with the Baby Friendly Hospital standard. Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska, Alen Seranic, has stated that this activity is significant because it standardizes access to the patient and promotes all good values within the health system.

BANJALUKA - Secretary of the Association of Forestry and Wood Processing of the Republika Srpska Chamber of Commerce, Lazo Sinik, expects that contracts with woodworkers in Srpska on the delivery of raw materials will be fulfilled this year, as a prerequisite for continuing the growth rate in the wood processing industry.

JAHORINA - A record number of 6.000 skiers on 40 km of ski and snow boarding trails has been recorded on Jahorina yesterday, which is unimaginable in the history of this mountain, announced the Jahorina Olympic Centre.

DOBOJ - The SDS candidate for the position of Doboj mayor, Nebojsa Sajinovic, said today that despite the defeat in the early elections, he will continue with political activity in this party, but that he will think of candidacy in the next elections only if the Election Law is amended.

SARAJEVO - the Law on Amendments to the Law on BiH Flag, which stipulates that no other flag may be hoisted next to the flag of BiH stipulating fines in case it happens is invalid, unconstitutional and has never been confirmed in the BiH Presidency nor this decision has ever been published in the "Official Gazette of BiH", BiH Presidency General Secretariat confirmed to SRNA. SARAJEVO - Newly-appointed US Ambassador to BiH Eric Nelson handed over the copies of the letters of credence to Head of Department for Diplomatic Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mirsad Besic, in Sarajevo today, the Ministry announced.

MOSTAR - HDZ BiH Leader Dragan Covic stated today that he expects final agreement on Council of Ministers formation within the next two days, and nomination of candidates for the chair position of the institution in the next seven days.

BIHAC - The Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of the Una-Sana Canton this morning entered into a general strike in all health institutions due to disrespect of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, i.e. the failure to increaser salary as it was agreed for November last year.

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Civil Engineering, Traffic and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said today that Serbia will additionally connect with the region through the construction of the Preljina-Pozega and Kuzmin-Sremska Raca motorways, as well as sections of Sarajevo motorway, and the construction of the Nis-Pristina motorway, section to Plocnik.

BELGRADE - Coca-Cola HBC company has acquired the leading Serbian confectionery company Bambi from the Mid Europa Partners for EUR 260 million, the company Coca-Cola HBC Serbia announced today.

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - A modified explosive ordnance has been activated this morning in North Kosovska Mitrovica, causing minor damage to the fitness centre facility and a car parked in the immediate vicinity, the Kosovo Police Service /KPS/ told SRNA.
