ANAPOLIS, June 25 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Željka Cvijanović and Maryland officials have said that there are prospects for and joint interest in raising cooperation between Srpska and Maryland to a higher level, particularly in health care, education and environmental protection.


Cvijanović and the Maryland Secretary of State John Wobensmith and the Speaker of the House of Delegates, Adrian Jones, agreed that the cooperation between Srpska and Maryland in healthcare, which is based on a protocol that was signed by the John Hopkins University Hospital and the Republika Srpska Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, was successful.

Cvijanović has stressed that BiH is also decentralized country, and that cooperation between various government levels and legitimate representation of all the three constituent peoples at the joint level are a supposition for its functioning and political stability, announced the Office of the Republika Srpska president on Tuesday.

Wobensmith informed Cvijanović of the history and tradition of Maryland, and about managing and decision making method in this American federal state.

Cvijanović is on a many-day official visit to the US. /end/sg
