SRPSKA COMMITTED TO STRENGTHENING ITS POLICE FORCE

BANJALUKA, DECEMBER 6 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković said today that Srpska was committed to strengthening the Ministry of Internal Affairs /MIA/ in terms of personnel and material and technical needs, and that this is a response to many challenges and a guarantee that Republika Srpska and its citizens will be protected.

After a ceremonial promotion of 322 cadets of the 20th class of the Police Training Unit of the MIA Police Academy in Zalužani outside Banjaluka, Višković wished success to young police officers who successfully completed education and training and became an integral part of the Republika Srpska police force.

“Year by year, Srpska has an increasingly greater number of cadets by which we are strengthening the MIA in terms of personnel with young and educated people. They should represent the future of Republika Srpska in terms of security which is very important for all citizens. They have a responsible, but honorable job,” Višković told reporters.

He has warned that Srpska must not turn a blind eye to problems threatening BiH such as the migrant crisis and return of persons from foreign battlefields.

“This is why we want to have young people in MIA who will deal more easily with the challenges we are expecting. The image of Republika Srpska will be presented the way the MIA works and the way the new police officers work. The police are a mirror of Srpska and we want to present it in the best possible light,” Višković said.
