BANJALUKA, May 9 /SRNA/ - The Republika Srpska Minister of Transport and Communications, Neđo Trninić, told SRNA on Thursday that the signing of an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development /EBRD/ on a EUR 210 million loan for the Corridor 5C project – bypass around Doboj, of which amount EUR 150 million will go to Srpska, was very important.


“Autoputevi Republike Srpske /the Republika Srpska Highways Company/ will get the money for the construction of [a section] of the Corridor 5C from Rudanka to Putnikovo Brdo. The Republika Srpska Government approved the borrowing,” Trninić said.

He has said that the agreement with the EBRD was signed with the aid of BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik.

“We will start a necessary procedure for the construction of the said section of the highway, and the Republika Srpska Highways Company will prepare technical documentation. This is a significant step in the development of road infrastructure in Srpska,” Trninić said.

The caretaker BiH Minister of Finance and Treasury, Vjekoslav Bevanda, and the president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development /EBRD/, Suma Chakrabarti, on Thursday in Sarajevo signed a loan agreement worth EUR 210 million for the Corridor 5 project – bypass around Doboj. /end/sg
