TRANSFER OF COMPETENCES WHILE DEVELOPING NEW HJPC ACT OUT OF QUESTION

BANJALUKA, June 14 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Minister of Justice Anton Kasipović states that any transfer of competencies from Srpska to BiH level while passing a new law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council /HJPC/ of BiH is out of question.

"The position of the Republika Srpska Justice Ministry will be taken after consultation with the Government of Srpska and the relevant committees of the National Assembly, but it is certain that any transfer of competencies from Srpska to the level of BiH is out of question," Kasipović told SRNA after the meeting in Prozor/Rama with representatives of the justice ministries of the Federation of BiH, BiH and Brčko District.

He stated the meeting was also about the War Crimes Processing Strategy.

"I insisted that we meet today /Friday/ as a year has passed since we adopted the War Crimes Processing Strategy. Unfortunately, it has never entered into force and this is a serious problem for the Ministry of Justice, which must be resolved," added Kasipović.

He says he has asked the BiH Ministry of Justice to update this issue. /end/vos
