DODIK’S RIGHT TO TAKE INITIATIVE IN CONSTITUTIONAL COURT

SARAJEVO, NOVEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - SDS Leader Mirko Šarovic said in Sarajevo today that Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, has the right to take initiatives in the BiH Constitutional Court.

"Every member of the BiH Presidency has the right to take initiatives in the BiH Constitutional Court," Šarović told the press in Sarajevo, commenting on Dodik's request to the BiH Constitutional Court for constitutionality review of the Law on Amendments to the BiH Flag Law.

According to Šarovic, Dodik always has a right to do so, but another question is and a matter of assessment whether it will be enough to get a positive closure at the Constitutional Court.

"I must admit that I am not aware of the details of the initiative, but it is fully clear that it is legitimate, as were the initiatives by some other members of the BiH Presidency," Šarović concluded.

Yesterday, Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik submitted to the Constitutional Court of BiH a request for constitutionality review of the Law on Amendments to the Law on the BiH Flag.

The General Secretariat of the BiH Presidency confirmed to SRNA on February 18 this year that the Law on Amendments to the Law on the BiH Flag, which stipulated that "no other flag should be displayed with the BiH flag", as well as the fines for that offense, was invalid, unconstitutional and had never been confirmed by the BiH Presidency nor published in the Official Gazette of BiH. /end/vos
