BANJALUKA, MAY 21 /SRNA/ - The National Assembly of Republika Srpska today lifted the state of emergency in the territory of Republika Srpska as the epidemiological situation caused by the coronavirus has been put under control. Republika Srpska President Željka Cvijanović has said that declaration of the state of emergency enabled institutions to resolve health, social, economic and humanitarian problems more efficiently during the pandemic when the National Assembly was not able to hold regular sessions because of restriction of movement and ban on gatherings. Cvijanović has said that a total of 19 decrees were issued in keeping with constitutional procedure during the state of emergency.

SARAJEVO, MAY 21 /SRNA/ - The Council of Ministers today appointed members to the coordination body to deal with the problem of disposal of radioactive waste and depleted nuclear fuel on Trgovska Gora. The Council accepted an initiative of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury for negotiations with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development pertaining to the program of integrated development of the Rivers Sava and Drina corridors, with the use of multiple-phase program approach, with the view to concluding a loan agreement totaling $ 33.7 million. A decision was made to restore a regular regime of cargo traffic between BiH and Croatia. The Council adopted proposals of annexes to an agreement between the Council of Ministers and the Government of Montenegro on border checks on joint border crossings, of which two are in Montenegro and two in BiH. At the proposal of Council Chairman Zoran Tegeltija, a decision was made to void the decision on operations of BiH institutions in connection with a threat to life and health of employees caused by the covid-19, and all employees are now obliged to come to work while abiding by protective measures. The Council of Ministers today adopted information from the European Integration Directorate on a proposal of the European Commission on a new framework for meetings and work of the Special Group for Public Administration Reform.

SARAJEVO, MAY 21 /SRNA/ - Minister of Security in the Council of Ministers Fahrudin Radončić said today that it would be good if the local elections were held, but that the BiH Central Election Commission /CEC/, which is composed of five political party figures, does not have the legitimacy.

SARAJEVO, MAY 21 /SRNA/ - In the first three months of the year, the registered number of entries and exits by persons from high migration risk countries across the BiH border was 61,231, which is by 8,742 /12.49%/ less than in the same period of last year, chief of staff of the director of the BiH Border Police Radiša Samardžija told Srna today.

ZAGREB, MAY 21 /SRNA/ - A fire broke out today on the Brač Island which engulfed two ha of a dense pine forest. Thirty-four fire fighters with 11 vehicles and a fire fighting aircraft are extinguishing the fire, the Selac Volunteer Fire Fighting Association confirmed. /end/sg
