TURKIYE CLAIMS MAHMULJIN HAS NOT BEEN LOCATED YET

SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 10 /SRNA/ - The Turkish Ministry of Justice informed the Ministry of Justice in the Council of Ministers that Sakib Mahmuljin has not yet been located in Turkiye.

The Ministry of Justice in the Council of Ministers sent a request to the Turkish Ministry of Justice for the extradition of Mahmuljin, whom the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced in April 2022 to eight years in prison for war crimes against Serbs in the area of ​​Ozren and Vozuća in 1995. "The petition was sent at the request of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the purpose of executing a single prison sentence according to the final judgment of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina," SRNA was told from the Ministry of Justice in the Council of Ministers. This ministry states that it continues to urge the competent authorities of Turkiye to extradite Mahmuljin to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that the public will be informed about the response to the request for extradition. On November 29, 2022, Interpol issued a red warrant for Mahmuljin. A day earlier, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an order to issue an international warrant for Mahmuljin, who, according to the Interpol database, is wanted by 194 countries. On November 23, 2022, Mahmuljin was supposed to approach the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to receive a reference document for serving a prison sentence. Instead of going to prison, Mahmuljin left BiH and went to Turkiye.
