BUDIMIR: UNIVERSITY DEVELOPMENT - STRATEGIC ISSUE OF SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 13 /SRNA/ - The development of higher education and support for the development of two public universities in Republika Srpska is one of the most important strategic issues for Srpska, said the Minister of Science and Technology Development and Higher Education Željko Budimir, who will receive the Order of the University of Istočno Sarajevo.

"Public universities in Srpska are in competition with the best universities in the area, which we can be proud of," Budimir said. He emphasized that the University of Istočno Sarajevo has raised the quality of studies during its 32 years of operation. Budimir pointed out that the construction of the buildings of the Rectorate and the Music Academy will contribute to even better working conditions. "I am extremely honored to receive the Order of the University of Istočno Sarajevo and to be recognized as someone who contributed to the development of this institution, which, on the other hand, is my duty and obligation as the line minister," Budimir stated. Today, the University of Istočno Sarajevo will mark 32 years of successful work, and at the ceremonial academy, the Minister of Science and Technology Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, Željko Budimir, will be presented with the Order of the University. At the ceremony, awards will be presented to other individuals who helped the development of the University, as well as to the best students and researchers. The University of Istočno Sarajevo, under the name University of Sarajevo of Republika Srpska, was founded on September 14, 1992 by the decision of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
