GOLIĆ: SRPSKA PRESERVING PEACE AND STABILITY, PRIMARY CONSTITUTIONAL POSITION IS IMPORTANT

STUTTGART, FEBRUARY 9 /SRNA/ - The Chairwoman of the Republika Srpska Council of Peoples, Srebrenka Golić, pointed out at the Republika Srpska Day celebration in Stuttgart that it is very important for Srpska to preserve peace and stability in this historical whirlwind, primarily its constitutional position.

Golić says Republika Srpska today is a stable, successful political community, financially sustainable and capable of dealing with all issues. She states Republika Srpska is fighting for strict compliance with the Dayton Peace Agreement, seeking a dialogue of elected representatives, instead of certain foreign individuals having imposed new and amended existing laws. "Instead of ending it in a democratic procedure, we have some imposed laws that we all oppose," Golić emphasized. She mentioned that those who do not respect the imposed laws are under sanctions and on the so-called "black list", including her, as well as other Srpska officials. Golić said that the cooperation she has with Serbia, headed by Aleksandar Vučić, is significant for Republika Srpska, to whom, as she said, Srpska owes immense gratitude for constant care, attention and support. "In the future, Srpska is going to remain open and committed to cooperation with everyone on the basis of mutual respect, understanding, and as far as the path to the EU is concerned," she pointed out. Golić states Republika Srpska celebrates the Republic Day in Stuttgart in its most beautiful tricolors, in honour of its birthday, in the spirit of freedom, love and desire for progress. "Every community strives for these values, as well as Republika Srpska and every individual from this great distance, far from their birthplace," Golić stated in a statement to SRNA over telephone. Golić said that a large number of dignitaries are attending the ceremony in Stuttgart on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of Republika Srpska, including Stefan Kaufman, CDU deputy in the German parliament. The ninth of January is celebrated as the Day of Republika Srpska as it was the date of its creation in 1992 under the original name of the Srpska Republika of BiH. It was founded by Serb deputies in the then Assembly of BiH after being outvoted in key issues on the survival of Yugoslavia, and members of the other two peoples started secession against the will of the Serbs, who had the status of a constituent people.
