ILIĆ: THE MAKING OF THE FIRST FEATURE FILM WILL CONTRIBUTE TO DEVELOPMENT OF CINEMATOGRAPHY IN SRPSKA
BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 7 /SRNA/ - The Director of the Audiovisual Center of Republika Srpska, Anja Ilić, said that the filming of the first feature-length movie, When I Die Again, which began today in Slatina near Banja Luka, will significantly contribute to the development of cinematography and the arts in Republika Srpska.
Ilić added that she is proud because the Audiovisual Center of Republika Srpska supported the film’s production with BAM 400,000. "I am glad to be part of this project and that we have managed to create a system to continuously provide stable funding to support the production of cinematographic and audiovisual works", said Ilić, who visited the film crew on the first set today. She added that it is also significant that the filming of this movie has brought together a large team led by domestic filmmakers and regional creators. Screenwriter and director Nemanja Savanović said that filming is proceeding according to plan and that the film crew will continue shooting at today’s location over the next few days. The film’s storyline is timely as it follows a man who tries to escape one set of problems, only to confront others. The film’s producer, Željko Erkić, said that shooting a feature film is a major challenge and expressed his satisfaction that this particular film received the trust and support of the Audiovisual Center. "The film has great potential to engage audiences and, in doing so, open doors for the realization of other projects, allowing us to take our works to the world and showcase what we are capable of", Erkić said. The film follows Milan, a taxi driver who, while trying to get out of debt, becomes involved in a dangerous enterprise that forces him to confront his own moral dilemmas and past. His journey becomes a story of escape, guilt, and the quest for redemption in a world where the boundaries between good and evil have long been erased. The film’s creative team includes screenwriter and director Nemanja Savanović, cinematographers Saša Petković and Dragan Radetić, set designer Slobodanka Pilić, and costume designer Margareta Šobot. The main roles are played by Mladen Sovilj, Dejan Aćimović, Mirko Vlahović, Miljka Brđanin, and Zoran Cvijanović, alongside a large number of actors from across the region.
