BUDAPEST VISIT SIGNALS SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN SRPSKA AND HUNGARY, NEW PROJECTS AHEAD
BUDAPEST, NOVEMBER 28 /SRNA/ – The visit of a high-level delegation from Republika Srpska to Budapest, along with the awarding of an honorary doctorate of the University of Banja Luka to Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, is a confirmation of the successful cooperation between the two countries and an indication of its further strengthening, BiH's Ambassador to Hungary Biljana Gutić-Bjelica told SRNA.
"We are now bringing this cooperation from the highest level closer to ordinary people, who will directly benefit from these contacts," Gutić-Bjelica emphasized. She noted that the visit of high-ranking officials from Republika Srpska to Budapest unfolded in the spirit of intensified cooperation with Hungary and reminded that numerous important meetings were held during their stay. According to her, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán confirmed that Hungary will continue all ongoing activities. "New projects have been announced, and continuation of support in the field of agriculture is especially important to us. According to the information we have, the second cycle of this support is expected in mid-January," Gutić-Bjelica stated. She recalled that the SNSD leader Milorad Dodik delivered a lecture at the Mathias Corvinus University in Budapest, attended by around 8,000 students, where he spoke about political developments in Republika Srpska, BiH, the region, and the world. Gutić-Bjelica said Dodik also spoke about Hungary's relations with Republika Srpska and BiH, as well as Hungary's important role in relations with the new US administration under Donald Trump, and with Russia and President Vladimir Putin. "The messages focused on peace, diplomatic solutions, stopping the war in Ukraine, and preventing the destruction of infrastructure," Gutić-Bjelica stated. She also reminded of the ceremony in Banja Luka at which the University of Banja Luka awarded an honorary doctorate to Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó. "Minister Szijjártó expressed his gratitude and said he sees the honor as recognition for everyone who has contributed to developing the exceptionally good and friendly relations between Republika Srpska and Hungary," Gutić-Bjelica concluded.
