NEXT EVENT IS COMMEMORATION OF JOINT STATE HOLIDAY - SRETENJE

BANJA LUKA, FEBRUARY 2 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said that Republika Srpska and Serbia will soon mark Sretenje, which is recorded in the Declaration of the All-Serbian Assembly as a joint holiday celebrating the statehood of both Serbia and Republika Srpska.

"Republika Srpska will mark Sretenje as our national holiday for the first time. Everything that is the state of Serbia is also the Serbian people here. We will not give up on this," said Dodik. He reminded that the Declaration was passed last year by the All-Serbian Assembly, which is an exceptional document. "Every single point of that declaration has entered the operational phase, and when the anniversary comes, we will submit a report on it," Dodik told reporters. He also said that Republika Srpska will not give up on its national heroes, and generals, despite attempts to remove them from history textbooks and the collective consciousness of the Serbian people.
