ZELJKOVIĆ: NOBODY TAKES KONAKOVIĆ SERIOUSLY ANYMORE

BANJA LUKA, APRIL 8 /SRNA/ - Elmedin Konaković is not looking for a solution, but for revenge, and revenge is not a program or a policy, that's why nobody takes him seriously today, said Bogoljub Zeljković, member of the SNSD in Banja Luka.

Zeljković reminded that in the last year Konaković promised everything and delivered nothing. "First he announced that he would `clean up the SNSD with an excavator,` then `wipe the president of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik with an eraser,` then he `promised` international sanctions, then dismissals, then `helicopter landing,` `resolving the SNSD` through the institutions. And then Andrej Plenković appeared in Mostar - and in one sentence he demolished the whole fairy tale," Zeljković pointed out. He added that while Konaković called on the HDZ to be an obedient executor of his political fantasies and "get serious" about ousting Milorad Dodik from power, Plenković told him coldly and clearly that Croatia would not do that. "And not only Croatia won't - but, as he said, `it won't even pass at the EU level`. And that's where the whole tower of cards that Konaković has been building for months falls. In basketball terms - a banana that makes the whole hall ring. And that in the middle of BiH. And all that in Mostar," Zeljković emphasized. He stressed that it is impossible to expel Dodik from the institutions, but the problem is that the people persistently include him. "The delegates in the House of Peoples represent the will of the citizens of Republika Srpska, and that will is not kept in their pocket, but is earned in the elections. And while the delegates are the result of clear political support, one, the one they affectionately or contemptuously call `the ball,` serves exactly what Konaković's plan is: for manipulation," said Zeljković. When it comes to Konaković's famous "excavator," Zeljković says that it is still rolling down the hill, but only because it is being pushed by Zukan Helez, Edin Forto, Draško Stanivuković and Milan Miličević, while Nebojša Vukanović himself seems more and more often as if he understood that it is just a pile of rust and karst without an engine, direction and a chance to straighten anything except his own face. "Konaković showed everything that a minister of foreign affairs should not have - vanity, vindictiveness and an astonishing ignorance of political procedures. He does not know how to replace the deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers. He does not know how to establish a majority in the House of Peoples. He does not know how to change people in institutions. All he knows is to threaten and get angry when he fails. And the biggest problem is that he did not understand what Plenković said - that BiH cannot exist if it is guided by the logic of 'eliminating political opponents'. You cannot build a multi-ethnic country on the foundations of exclusion. You can't build democracy by asking prosecutors, foreigners and allies to sort out what you can't do in the elections," Zeljković pointed out. When Plenković easily ignored him in front of the cameras, he said, it was not just a diplomatic gesture, it was a signal that no normal person would mess with him for the sake of personal promotion. "That Croatia will not destroy Dayton and that it will not enter the slippery terrain of party confrontations with Dodik, because it knows that tomorrow - it could be anyone. And that is why, instead of raising his voice and `calling for seriousness,` Konaković could do something really useful: to educate himself and learn the difference between power and shouting, to understand that the will of the people is not a ball, but the result of trust, and trust is not written on Instagram, but voted in elections. Perhaps in politics, as in sports, you learn the most when you get blocked. Plenković's messages from Mostar could be a lesson. The only question is whether Konaković knows how to read the game when it doesn't go according to plan, because so far he has shown one thing: he only knows when he is alone on the field. And now he is not anymore," Zeljković concluded.
