DODIK: IMPORTANT DAY FOR US, A SERIES OF MEETINGS WITH WORLD OFFICIALS

MOSCOW, MAY 9 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik says that today is an important day for Srpska, whose delegation attended the Victory Day celebration in Moscow, and points out that he had a number of meetings with world officials, including the presidents of Brazil and Venezuela.
"This was an important day for us. It is good that the Srpska delegation had the opportunity to attend the marking of the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism in Moscow," Dodik told the press from Srpska. He stated that today he had the opportunity to speak again with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, about keep working on the implementation of the agreed works. "Putin said that we are moving on and that we remain in contact to implement everything we agreed on," said Dodik. The president of Srpska pointed out that he also spoke with the President of China, Xi Jinping, whom he thanked for the fact that through the Belt and Road initiative, the first project was implemented in Srpska, namely the construction of the Thermal Power Plant in Stanari. "We discussed the engagement of Chinese companies that want to participate in the construction of infrastructure, energy, agriculture and everything important for both, them and us," said Dodik. He stated that he thanked China for its correct position as a permanent member of the Security Council. "For a long time, China has had a measured and correct neutral position regarding the need to respect international law. China sees that there are certain problems in this regard and has not given its consent to the appointment of Christian Schmidt," Dodik pointed out. The president of Srpska pointed out that even the last speech before the Security Council speaks of the fact that China is leading a consistent policy that is not an improvisation. "I also spoke with the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, about the agreed projects. During my last visit to Belarus, we agreed on a project related to the procurement of tractors for agriculture, which was implemented," said Dodik. He stated that he informed the President of Belarus that there is a great interest of farmers in Srpska, and he asked him to expand this project. "There shouldn't be any problems, but we have to agree on the details," said the president of Srpska. Dodik stated that in Moscow he had the opportunity to talk with the President of Brazil, Luiz Iñacio Lula da Silva, who knows the situation regarding the former Yugoslavia and the events that occurred after the country's disintegration. "He said he was interested in the situation and we agreed to maintain communication," said Dodik and added that during the meeting there was talk on the BRICS conference, which Brazil is hosting this year. Dodik said that he had also spoken with many other presidents of states, including the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, on two occasions. "We briefly exchanged opinions. He knows everything about Yugoslavia and everything that happened," said Dodik. He stated that he also had a meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who sent him words of support.
