KOVAČEVIĆ: JOINING EU WITH OHR IS UNIMAGINABLE HYPOCRISY!

SARAJEVO, MAY 14 /SRNA/ - Serb delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Radovan Kovačević said that BiH cannot join the EU with the Office of the High Representative /OHR/ and that it is an unimaginable hypocrisy.

Kovačević stated that there is no bigger hypocrisy than that BiH can enter the EU, that it can move towards the EU with the OHR. "It is unimaginable hypocrisy," Kovačević assessed. He pointed out that nowhere in Europe, nor in the world, is there a process against someone for respecting the Constitution, and especially against someone who is the president of the Republic elected by the people. "If it is the rule of law that we need to negotiate with the EU, then we give up the European path and anything that has to do with Europe," Kovačević told Euronews and asked if the European Union is not based on the rule of law. Kovačević added that in Brussels and at many other addresses, that was the first question that he asked people from the European Union. "Is it the rule of law for a foreigner to come and pass laws, make unconstitutional decisions - against the Constitution, democratic institutions and democratically elected representatives, citizens and people in democratic institutions - and directly persecute those people who do not want to obey the will of a foreigner in their own country?" asked Kovačević. If you want to be a democracy, he pointed out, you cannot do something that is not in accordance with the Constitution. "What kind of democracy is it when a foreigner comes and carries out direct political persecution of someone who does not comply with his moves. It is disgraceful," stated Kovačević.
