WASHINGTON, MAY 21 /SRNA/ - In separate meetings in Washington with Republican Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bernie Moreno, the Serb member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, expressed her expectation that BiH will begin to live a democratic life, free from the dictates of unelected foreigners who impose laws and suspend constitutions.

During friendly talks with the senators, Cvijanović expressed hope that, in the future, BiH will develop independently by relying on its own democratic capacities, the Office of the Serb member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency said. Cvijanović expressed full support for the policies of the new U.S. administration led by President Donald Trump, which are focused on dialogue and the peaceful resolution of conflicts in Europe and around the world. She emphasized that this is fully in line with the positions of the institutions of Republika Srpska, which are committed to preserving peace and stability in BiH and the region. In the context of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, Cvijanović emphasized the importance of full respect for the agreement and its annexes, as well as the constitutional position of all three constituent peoples and the various levels of government in BiH. Cvijanović welcomed President Trump's announcement that the United States will no longer engage in nation-building or interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.
