DAYTON, MAY 23 /SRNA/ - The Serb member and Chairwoman of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, expressed full agreement today in Dayton with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau that domestic institutions should assume responsibility for all processes in BiH, and that solutions must be the result of domestic political agreements.

Cvijanović welcomed the statement by U.S. President Donald Trump, reiterated today by Deputy Secretary Landau, that the United States will no longer engage in state-building or interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. In this regard, she emphasized the need to intensify internal dialogue to overcome all challenges in BiH, which are of a political rather than a security nature. She expressed satisfaction with the fact that the United States is focused on developing economic relations, for which the preservation of political stability is a prerequisite. During the meeting, Cvijanović informed Mr. Landau about the harmful consequences of years of unprincipled and undemocratic foreign interventionism. She emphasized her full commitment to reaffirming democracy in BiH and respecting the Dayton Peace Agreement. On this occasion, Cvijanović congratulated Mr. Landau on his appointment as U.S. Deputy Secretary of State.
