SELAK: THEY ONCE KNEELED BEFORE DODIK, AND NOW EVEN FBiH CITIZENS ARE TIRED OF THEIR RHETORIC
BANJA LUKA, MAY 24 /SRNA/ - Leader of the Socialist Party of Srpska /SPS/, Goran Selak, has told SRNA that political circles in Sarajevo are attacking Republika Srpska, Serbia, and their leaders in an attempt to score political points with voters. However, he emphasized that BiH can only function through an agreement among the three constituent peoples and full respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement.
"This is a misguided policy. I believe even citizens in the Federation of BiH are tired of such rhetoric. Now Dodik doesn't suit you, yet you once came begging at his door, practically kneeling, asking to be included in the government at the BiH level. The people have seen through that," Selak said in his SRNA podcast. He added that no one is going to be arrested for so-called political persecution in BiH. "They can't arrest anyone. We have our own institutions and citizens. Let’s talk. Let’s put an end to these processes. Let the prosecutors come to their senses. What attack on the constitutional order?" said Selak. He says that no one will be arrested for political persecution in BiH. "They can't arrest anyone. We have our own institutions and citizens. Let's talk. Let's put an end to these processes, and let the prosecutors come to their senses. What attack on the constitutional order?" Selak said. He stated that there was no threat of force that would justify talk of an attack on the constitutional order and that the law is clear. "This is further escalation of the situation. Who will be responsible if peace and stability are disrupted? Everyone must take care to preserve peace and stability," Selak emphasized. He pointed out that everyone must take responsibility for their actions and be especially mindful of future generations. "It's important to preserve peace, especially in a year when we mark 30 years since peace was established. Our fathers fought for this, they created Republika Srpska. Don’t create a crisis where there is no need for one," Selak stressed. He believes that official Sarajevo’s goal is to remove Serb personnel, which would be "decapitation" of Republika Srpska, claiming this is evident from statements given by Bosniak politicians who say they will dismiss but not appoint new Serb representatives. "Then what is BiH? Why are you humiliating Republika Srpska? We won’t allow it. That’s why we keep saying that no one should play games with Republika Srpska. Republika Srpska is part of BiH, and we can negotiate and talk," Selak concluded.
