RADLOVIĆ: RESETTLING MIGRANTS COULD THREATEN STABILITY AND SECURITY

BOSANSKO GRAHOVO, JUNE 22 /SRNA/ – The mayor of Bosansko Grahovo, Smiljka Radlović, stated to SRNA that this returnee municipality will not allow the resettlement of migrants, as it could threaten the stability and security of the local population.

"We are a returnee population that has already suffered greatly over time. We must not allow the current satisfactory security situation to be disrupted," Radlović emphasized. She stressed that the local government will use all legal means to protect the population and territory of Bosansko Grahovo from attempts to resettle migrants. The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik has submitted an initiative to the National Assembly of Republika Srpska to review information regarding the migrant situation and propose appropriate measures, following announcements that tens of thousands of migrants may arrive in BiH. The UK government has formally announced its intention to relocate around 60,000 unwanted migrants from Asia and Africa to the Balkans — including Serbia /with Kosovo and Metohija/, BiH, North Macedonia, and Albania. The European Commission joined in by announcing that EU countries will deport additional tens of thousands of problematic asylum seekers to the Balkan states, and the business portal Bloomberg reported that the U.S. also plans to transfer its Latin American migrants to the Balkans, specifically naming Serbia.
