VUČETIĆ: KILLERS OF MY FAMILY AND 46 CHILDREN ARE STILL FREE

BRATUNAC, JULY 2 /SRNA/ – Brano Vučetić from Bratunac, who as a wounded nine-year-old was imprisoned in a Muslim-run camp in Srebrenica, told SRNA that no one has yet been held accountable for the murder of his parents and underage brother, nor for the deaths of 46 other children from the Birač region, which must never be forgotten. These and other unpunished crimes against Serbs must be constantly remembered and honored, he emphasized.
Vučetić stressed that a culture of remembrance must be nurtured, and that the suffering and torment endured by Serbs not only in the Defensive-Patriotic War but also in other wars of the 20th century in this region must not be forgotten. “Our children and future generations need to know how we suffered and at whose hands. They need to know that in every war we suffered at the hands of the same criminals and their descendants – our Muslim neighbors. They have never been held accountable for these crimes, which is why they repeated them without fear of responsibility. Our children and descendants must know this so that they do not share the fate of their ancestors,” Vučetić said. He noted that these descendants need to learn this to appreciate the freedom that the Serb people on the left bank of the Drina are guaranteed only by the existence of Republika Srpska, for which 3,267 Serb lives were lost in Central Podrinje and Birač regions – and no one has yet been held accountable for these victims or for the mass Muslim crimes against Serbs. Vučetić called on all families of fallen soldiers, murdered civilians, invalids, former prisoners, and all Serbs of Podrinje to attend the memorial service on Saturday, July 5, in Bratunac, where His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije will serve a memorial for the 3,267 murdered compatriots from Central Podrinje and Birač during the last war. “I can never forget my parents and brother. I survived so I could keep their memory alive, light candles for them, and tell my children and other Serb children about our suffering. They must know and be vigilant,” he emphasized. He pointed out that for the imprisonment of children in camps, for the murders of 1,800 Serb civilians from Birač, for his parents and brother, and for the 47 murdered Serb children from this region, only Albanian Eljfeta Veselji was sentenced – and that to a shamefully low prison term for the sadistic torture and murder of boy Slobodan Stojanović from Drinjača. “Not a single criminal from these Muslim hordes has been convicted for the mass murders in Serb villages, which shows how the BiH judiciary operates under the mentorship of the corrupt West,” Vučetić stated. According to him, last night photos of murdered Serbs were placed along the regional road from Bratunac to the border with the Srebrenica municipality at the Yellow Bridge, to draw attention to judicial injustice and make international officials and anyone traveling these days to the Bosniak commemoration in Potočari near Srebrenica see that Serbs were also massacred here, not only Bosniaks. He emphasized that no one has been held accountable for these mass killings of Serbs. “This shows the absurdity of both the international and BiH judiciary and refutes the West’s one-sided propaganda narrative and historical lie that only Bosniaks suffered during the war in BiH,” Vučetić said. He pointed out that the posted photos of murdered Serbs expose Western propaganda and hypocrisy, as well as Bosniak lies that portray themselves as the “only victims” in the civil war in BiH, which they instigated. Vučetić urged that Serbs must remember their victims and heroes, never allowing them to be forgotten, stressing that serving memorial services, naming the dead, paying tribute, and lighting candles for the repose of their souls is the Orthodox way of honoring and thanking those who died and suffered for the freedom of the Serb people. The full-day program marking 33 years since the Serb suffering in Middle Podrinje and Birač will begin on Saturday, July 5, at 9:00 a.m. in Bratunac, with the welcoming of His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije in front of the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, where the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy will be served. After that, a procession will move to the Bratunac cemetery where a memorial service will be held, flowers laid at the memorial cross, respects paid, candles lit for the repose of the victims’ souls, and a commemorative program will follow.
