COURT AND PROSECUTOR'S ACTION IS STANDARD PRACTICE

BANJA LUKA, JULY 5 /SRNA/ – By voluntarily appearing before the Court of BiH, Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik fulfilled the conditions for the lifting of his detention and the withdrawal of the arrest warrant, hence everything was done in accordance with the BiH Criminal Procedure Code, Goran Bubić, Dodik's lawyer, told SRNA.

"We did not contest the proposed measure of periodic reporting to the Laktaši Police Station, in order to immediately meet the conditions for waiving the right to appeal and for the court’s decisions regarding detention and the warrant to become final," said Bubić. He emphasized that in any other similar case, courts act in the same manner. The Court of BiH issued a ruling yesterday accepting the Prosecutor’s Office’s proposal to lift the detention order against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, thereby also canceling the arrest warrant previously issued for him. Detention was lifted after it was determined that the reasons for which it was initially imposed no longer existed. Earlier, the Court of BiH had imposed a one-month detention on Milorad Dodik on suspicion of committing, as stated, the criminal offense of "attack on the constitutional order."
