KOVAČEVIĆ: REASON HAS PREVAILED, THE COALITION OF LOSERS WILL NEVER DEFEAT SRPSKA PRESIDENT, WHO IS THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE

BANJA LUKA, JULY 7 /SRNA/ – The Court of BiH's decision accepting the Prosecutor's Office's proposal for revoking the detention order for Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik represents a victory of reason over madness; the ones who complained the most about this decision were the Bosniak political Sarajevo and the Srpska opposition - namely, the coalition of losers who will remain losers, said Radovan Kovačević, Serb deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.

Kovačević emphasized that everything preceding the Court's decision was a witch-hunt against the president of Srpska and Republika Srpska itself, while the loudest outcries over the recent decision came from official Sarajevo, as well as from the opposition in Republika Srpska. "They haven't been able to defeat Dodik for 20 years, neither the opposition nor those from Sarajevo. If you look at it, Sarajevo's political figures who were going after Milorad Dodik included Alija Izetbegović, Haris Silajdžić, Sulejman Tihić, Zlatko Lagumdžija, and Bakir Izetbegović, along with current attackers who keep tripping over themselves trying to get into the political ring with Dodik. They have all faded away and are fading, becoming the past," said Kovačević, who is also the SNSD spokesperson. He stated that the Court of BiH's decision to revoke Dodik's detention silenced everyone who were not politically mature enough but kept rushing to make a name for themselves in politics. According to him, these are the people who were cheering when a foreigner unconstitutionally imposed laws and acted against the president of Republika Srpska, who had respected the Constitution. Kovačević pointed out that even the indictment of the unconstitutional BiH Prosecutor's Office, read that the president of Republika Srpska respected the Republika Srpska Constitution!? "For us, that is not a crime and we will never allow it to be considered a crime. It is the holiest obligation and duty of everyone in Republika Srpska, especially the one elected by the citizens to represent and express the state unity of Republika Srpska," Kovačević stressed. Speaking to RTRS, Kovačević said that even the second “offense,” for which arrest warrant was issued, is ridiculous, explaining that it stems from the amendments imposed by Christian Schmidt. "That offense doesn't even exist in the Criminal Code adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH," Kovačević reminded, pointing out that the BiH Constitution clearly states that the only institution in BiH authorizsed to pass and amend laws is the Parliamentary Assembly. He assessed that the "coalition of losers" had hoped that someone would remove Dodik from the political arena. "They won't be able to defeat him even now because Dodik is the people's choice, unlike them, who are Christian Schmidt’s choice. Dodik doesn't wait for Christian Schmidt's mercy to sit at the table. Dodik is elected by the people to be significant and to represent them, while they wait for Schmidt to call them so they can come to him, complain, and hurl insults at both Milorad Dodik and the entire Republika Srpska. That's why they are where they are," Kovačević said. Kovačrvić also noted that the legal proceedings against the president of Republika Srpska are not over, as there is still a first-instance judgment, which he called unlawful and unconstitutional, and that the second-instance ruling is awaited.
