ŠPIRIĆ: WE WILL PREVENT ANYTHING THAT UNDERMINES REPUBLIKA SRPSKA'S CAPACITY

SARAJEVO, JULY 16 /SRNA/ – Chairman of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Nikola Špirić told SRNA that SNSD representatives in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH will always prevent any unconstitutional actions or anything that undermines the constitutional competencies of Republika Srpska.
Špirić emphasized that the pressures and blackmail he had been subjected to over the past eight months could in no way compel him to abandon adherence to the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure. He said that he expects a constructive working atmosphere tomorrow, when both the continuation of the regular session, which has been interrupted twice, and an emergency session of the House of Peoples are scheduled to take place. "I expect that many have grown out of their political adolescence and will be dedicated to the work of the session," Špirić said. He pointed out that the agenda of the emergency session includes the Law on the Council of Ministers, describing it as a highly dangerous piece of legislation which opposition MPs from Republika Srpska, in their eagerness to join the government, allowed to pass in the House of Representatives. "This is an unconstitutional law, and even its proponent knows it. We will prevent anything that is unconstitutional and that undermines the constitutional competencies of Republika Srpska," Špirić stated. He noted that the agenda of the continued regular session has been streamlined, as some items have already been addressed during previous special sessions. Špirić explained that the emergency session will also include discussion on two legislative proposals and proposed dismissals: the Chair of the House of Peoples, the Serb ministers in the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac and Srđan Amidžić, as well as, from among the Serb representatives, Deputy Minister of Defence Aleksandar Goganović, Minister of Communications and Transport Ognjen Janjić, and Minister of Civil Affairs Marijana Mojić.
