ŠULIĆ: SUCCESSFUL SUMMER TOURIST SEASON ACROSS SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 13 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska Denis Šulić told SRNA that, according to information from the field, the summer tourist season in Srpska has been more than successful in all parts of the Republic.

Šulić stated he is in constant contact with representatives of tourist organizations and the tourism industry in almost all local communities. “These days we often see or hear comments about how the political situation is jeopardizing the tourist season, but then you go out into the streets and see a completely different picture. The images from the destinations are backed by statistical indicators from the beginning of the year until today,” Šulić said. He emphasized that he is particularly pleased that all parts of Republika Srpska now offer summer tourist attractions, recording visits from both domestic and foreign guests. “The indicators have been good since the beginning of the year, so in the first half of the year we have seen about a five percent increase in arrivals and a three and a half percent increase in overnight stays compared to last year, which was a record,” Šulić stressed. He also said that it is significant that there has been an increase in the arrivals and overnight stays of domestic tourists, especially in June, which confirms the success of the tourist voucher program. “As of September 1, we will continue with the project and expect even greater interest from our citizens, who are already making reservations for that period,” Šulić concluded.
