KOJIĆ: REFERENDUM, NOT ELECTIONS, WILL BE HELD IN SRPSKA
SARAJEVO, AUGUST 28 /SRNA/ - SNSD member of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Milorad Kojić told SRNA that no elections will be held in Republika Srpska until the end of this year; instead, a referendum will take place, in accordance with the decision and conclusions of the National Assembly of Srpska.
"Regular elections in Republika Srpska will be held next year, as prescribed. The SNSD is fully preparing for those elections - for the President of the Republic, the BiH Presidency member, the National Assembly, and the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly," Kojić said regarding the decision of the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH to call early elections. He emphasized that the referendum in Srpska is focused on the issue of decisions imposed by Christian Schmidt and the judicial persecution of the President of the Republic, carried out, as he stated, by unconstitutional judicial institutions at the level of BiH. "The Constitution of Republika Srpska clearly stipulates that the President of the Republic can be recalled only by the citizens who elected him. It is precisely in this sense that the decision of the National Assembly to hold a referendum was made, so that citizens can express their position," Kojić said. According to the conclusions of the National Assembly of August 22, Republika Srpska rejected the possibility of holding early elections for the president of Republika Srpska and requested that all authorities of Srpska and local self-government units refrain from undertaking any actions related to their implementation. At that time, the Republika Srpska National Assembly adopted a decision to call a referendum regarding the ruling of the unconstitutional Court of BiH against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH on the termination of his mandate, setting the referendum date for October 25. The referendum question reads: "Do you accept the decisions of the unelected foreigner, Christian Schmidt, and the ruling of the unconstitutional Court of BiH issued against the President of Republika Srpska, as well as the decision of the CEC to terminate the mandate of the President of Srpska Milorad Dodik?"
