DEĐANSKI: DECISION ON EARLY ELECTIONS ILLEGAL AND NON-BINDING FOR SRPSKA
BELGRADE, AUGUST 28 /SRNA/ – Political analyst Stevica Deđanski assessed that the entity should react to the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH's decision to call early presidential elections in the same way as to the actions of Christian Schmidt and reject these illegal and non-binding decisions for its citizens.
Deđanski told SRNA that on October 25, citizens should turn out in large numbers for the referendum called by the entity’s National Assembly. "We need to show unity, and political parties that, unfortunately, support Christian Schmidt's policies have no backing among the people," Deđanski told SRNA. He emphasized that all citizens, wherever they may be, should loudly express their position and ensure as many people as possible participate in the referendum. "What the CEC BiH does or anything done by Sarajevo and Schmidt is irrelevant to discuss or analyze. Each of their next moves will be even worse, so it does not matter what they say," Deđanski added. The CEC of BiH decided that early presidential elections will be held on November 23. Republika Srpska, through resolutions of its National Assembly on August 22, rejected the possibility of holding early presidential elections and requested that all its authorities and local government units take no actions in connection with their implementation. The National Assembly of Republika Srpska then adopted a decision to hold a referendum regarding the ruling of the unconstitutional BiH Court against President Milorad Dodik and the BiH CEC's decision to terminate his mandate, determining that the referendum will be held on October 25. The referendum question reads: "Do you accept the decisions of the unelected foreigner Christian Schmidt and the rulings of the unconstitutional BiH Court issued against the entity's president, as well as the CEC decision to revoke the mandate of President Milorad Dodik?"
