DODIK: CROATIA'S DECISION ON RADIOACTIVE WASTE SITE IS DAMAGING, FIGHT WILL GO ON

BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 16 /SRNA/ – SNSD leader Milorad Dodik stated for SRNA that Croatia has done a very bad thing by adopting the Law on the Construction of a Radioactive Waste Management Center at Trgovska Gora, stressing that Republika Srpska will continue to fight to prove that the project is harmful to this area.

Dodik said that Croatia ignored years of efforts undertaken not only by the institutions of Republika Srpska, but also by BiH, noting that the Croatian Parliament yesterday passed a law providing for the construction of a disposal site right along the border with BiH. He pointed out that ignoring the concerns expressed by Srpska regarding the project is not good and will bring nothing good to Croatia itself. Dodik reminded that certain processes were initiated when he was a member of the BiH Presidency, but that those who, as he put it, “lie and manipulate” now refuse to mention that. “When I was a member of the BiH Presidency, and earlier when I was the President of the Republic, we initiated actions and fought against this. Many of our people, from Srebrenka Golić to Staša Košarac, were almost engaged on a daily basis—launching procedures, seeking the establishment of joint commissions,” Dodik reminded. He added that Croatia ignored those efforts, but announced that the fight would continue in order to prove that the project is harmful to us and that what Croatia and the Croatian state have done is neither correct nor fair. “We cannot expect them to show empathy toward Serbs. In the end, we see what our Serb people in Croatia are going through,” Dodik noted.
