THE WORLD IS CHANGING, BUT THIS IS NOT UNDERSTOOD IN FBiH
BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 31 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović said that there is growing awareness worldwide of what the problems of BiH are and that Republika Srpska is defending itself.
"I have heard at many important addresses that Sarajevo will have to acknowledge and recognize Republika Srpska. These are things that are very different from what we used to hear before. The whole world is changing, but in BiH it seems that not everyone understands that this is happening," Cvijanović said. She pointed out that BiH sank into an even deeper crisis this year due to artificially imposed and unconstitutional issues and topics dictated by foreign actors, primarily by Christian Schmidt. "This is a state of lethargy, the absence of the possibility of agreement, and the absence of the will to find a compromise solution. It is difficult for us to establish a bridge of genuine and real dialogue with political Sarajevo, given that their political appetites are significantly greater than what they are entitled to under the Constitution, and that is essentially where the entire problem lies," Cvijanović said. On the other hand, Cvijanović added, part of the international community seeks to encourage those political appetites, which further complicates matters. When it comes to the institutions of Republika Srpska, Cvijanović said there is a commitment for everyone to act in line with what the Constitution has granted them and to communicate with others. "That is necessary. Even if we disagree, dialogue is how certain issues should be resolved. However, our colleagues in Sarajevo do not rely on domestic wisdom and capacity, on the capacities of institutions, but on interventions that are most often brutal and unprecedented in the modern era," Cvijanović said. If there is reliance on foreign actors and foreign interventionism, Cvijanović said, the state withers and cannot live a full institutional life. She stressed that it is necessary to return to the principles of Dayton in order for the state to function. "There are many paradoxes and absurdities in BiH. Everything that normal states do to improve their economic standing, political situation and social sphere is being stifled here, because there are political appetites that prevent anything from happening in a normal way," Cvijanović said in an interview with Glas Srpske. As for Republika Srpska, Cvijanović emphasized that all institutions are ready for dialogue and agreement, but are also determined not to give up on what belongs to Srpska. "We do not want to take anything that belongs to the FBiH, nor anything that belongs to the BiH level, which is common. We are always in favor of finding solutions that overcome what is artificial. We always advocate solutions that are the product of domestic institutions, not imposed ones," Cvijanović said. She added that everyone should work together to preserve peace and stability, and expressed confidence that this will be the case.
