JANUARY 9 - OPPORTUNITY TO REAFFIRM VALUE OF NATIONAL IDENTITY
BELGRADE, JANUARY 8 /SRNA/ – Serbian Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić has told SRNA today that the marking of the Day of Republika Srpska - January 9 is an opportunity to be reminded of the importance of mutual respect and lasting commitment to preserving the national identity, culture, and traditions of the Serb people on both sides of the Drina River.
Vujić extended sincere congratulations to the leadership and citizens of Republika Srpska, conveying messages of unity, solidarity, and peace. He said that Serbia views cooperation with Republika Srpska as a strategic partnership based on respect for the Dayton Peace Accords, the rule of law, and good neighborly relations. "Our shared goal is to strengthen institutions, legal certainty, and the protection of fundamental human and national rights, as prerequisites for stable development and peace in the region," Vujić stressed. He noted that Serbia is committed, in the field of justice, to improving cooperation through the exchange of experience and best practices, the harmonization of normative solutions where possible, and the strengthening of mechanisms of mutual legal assistance. Vujić noted that particular attention is being paid to the protection of constitutionality and legality, the independence of judicial institutions, the fight against corruption and organized crime, as well as the effective protection of citizens' rights. "I am confident that, by preserving our shared values and identity, we will continue to build relations of trust and cooperation for the benefit of all our citizens and future generations. Happy Day of Republika Srpska!" Vujić pointed out. January 9 is celebrated as the Day of Republika Srpska, which was established on that date in 1992 under its original name, the Republic of the Serb People in BiH.
