ĐURĐEVIĆ: WE HAVE READ THEIR SCENARIO - SRPSKA WILL DEFEND ITSELF
BIJELJINA, JANUARY 16 /SRNA/ - SNSD Presidency member Aleksandar Đurđević stated that representatives of the institutions of Republika Srpska timely recognized the scenario created by Christian Schmidt, the Sarajevo political and judicial circles, with the support of the opposition in Republika Srpska, and took concrete steps to protect institutional stability.
“The goal of that scenario was clear – to destabilize Republika Srpska’s institutions by stripping the mandate from the elected President of Republika Srpska and annuling the government’s election, all in order to establish political and legal control of Sarajevo over Republika Srpska,” Đurđević said. He emphasized that Republika Srpska did not wait for the scenario to be fully implemented, but has been taking and continues to take concrete steps to protect institutional stability. “We support the reinstatement and immediate re-assumption of Savo Minić’s mandate, as this is crucial to prevent the creation of a new artificial crisis, which was planned to be triggered by unlawful decisions of the Sarajevo authorities and by ‘beheading’ Republika Srpska through the annulment of the government’s election,” Đurđević said in a written statement. He added that the hysterical, almost orchestrated reactions from Sarajevo, from Schmidt, and the opposition in Republika Srpska only confirm that their plan is failing. “Particularly disheartening is that instead of standing by its own institutions, the opposition in Republika Srpska rejoices over the problems into which Republika Srpska has been brought by the unscrupulous attacks of the aforementioned actors,” Đurđević said. He says this clearly shows that they are not concerned with Republika Srpska, but solely with coming to power at any cost. “By the repeated victory of Karan and the reappointment of Minić, we send a message that Republika Srpska will remain calm and stable, and that decisions about its future will be made exclusively within its own institutions, not anywhere else,” Đurđević stated.
