MINIĆ: GOVERNMENT'S POSITIVE MOMENTUM WILL NOT BE HALTED BY ARTIFICIAL CRISES

BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 18 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska resigning Prime Minister Savo Minić says it is unacceptable for the Government's positive momentum to be interrupted by artificial crises, adding that he decided to submit his resignation as an act of responsibility, with the aim of ensuring political stability and continuity of governance.

At the special session of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, Minić emphasized that this decision will further strengthen Srpska, making it more resilient to any form of pressure. He added that this move does not change the Government's course, whose priority remains strengthening Srpska's capacity to defend its competences as provided by the Dayton Peace Agreement. "It is unacceptable for the Government's positive momentum to be halted by artificial crises. That is why we have made a decision that will further strengthen Republika Srpska, making it more resistant to any form of pressure. I want to clearly tell the people of Srpska that, for all these reasons and in accordance with the Constitution, I am submitting my resignation from the position of prime minister," Minić said. He noted that the past year was marked by serious challenges for Republika Srpska, describing it as one of the most difficult years since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement. "We were facing political pressures. The goal was to diminish the essence of the statehood of Republika Srpska. However, Srpska emerged more stable and stronger, and demonstrated unity. In impossible circumstances, we remained intact, while the only legal framework for BiH is the Dayton-based Constitution," Minić stressed. He has added that challenging times will continue this year as well, but that others will not be allowed to dictate the future. "That is why we are strengthening the institutions of Srpska and our capacities to sovereignly assume responsibility. We will work on improving Srpska, as it is our permanent commitment. Others did not plan for Srpska to exist, but we did," Minić said. He emphasized that Republika Srpska is oriented toward the future and seeks development, stability, and investments. "There will be no reduction in incomes in Srpska. I remind you that we have adopted a number of regulations that mean higher salaries, as well as security for pensioners, veterans, and young people. We have also launched strategic projects, and we will keep taking this course," Minić said. After Minić's resignation was accepted, the special session of the Republika Srpska National Assembly was ended.
