KOVAČEVIĆ: NATIONAL ASSEMBLY WILL ASSESS WHEN AND WHETHER SERB JUDGES WILL BE APPOINTED
BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 18 /SRNA/ - Serb deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Radovan Kovačević, has stated this evening that the Republika Srpska National Assembly will assess when to appoint Serb judges to the Constitutional Court of BiH and whether this will happen at all.
"The assessment of everyone in Republika Srpska is that the Constitutional Court of BiH is not doing what its essential job is, as outlined in the Constitution of BiH. The Constitution of BiH states that the Constitutional Court must protect the Constitution of BiH," Kovačević told the press in Banja Luka. He says the Constitutional Court of BiH has made countless decisions contrary to the Constitution of BiH, thus creating a new constitutional reality and structure of BiH, which has always been against Republika Srpska. "The Constitution of BiH states that judges of the Constitutional Court cannot serve if they are older than 70, which was altered by Christian Schmidt; the work regulations of this court stipulate that it is impossible to hold a grand chamber without at least one representative from Republika Srpska," Kovačević said. He emphasized that those who wish to destroy the Republika Srpska will not succeed.
