KOŠARAC: IZETBEGOVIĆ CONFIRMES THAT OPPOSITION IN SRPSKA IS SARAJEVO AND SCHMIDT’S CHOICE
SARAJEVO, JANUARY 22 /SRNA/ – Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac assessed that SDA President Bakir Izetbegović, by stating that he hopes the opposition in Republika Srpska will win the elections this year, confirmed what has long been obvious to everyone-that Sarajevo and Christian Schmidt are counting on the opposition as part of their convoy against Republika Srpska.
"Izetbegović is no exception in this. In that Sarajevo-Schmidt calculation, the opposition is a constant that would fulfill all their demands and wishes, paying a political debt in return," said Košarac, also a member of the SNSD Presidency. He pointed out that Izetbegović’s statement did not come by chance or naively ahead of February 8, when repeated, imposed elections are being organized in several local communities in Republika Srpska, as well as ahead of the general elections in October. "He sent a signal to Bosniaks. Sarajevo’s perpetual desire is to weaken the constitutional position of Republika Srpska and abolish it. Sarajevo wants to choose the governing structures in Republika Srpska. We have continuously been saying this-the opposition is Sarajevo’s and Schmidt’s choice, not the choice of the Serb people in Republika Srpska," Košarac stressed. He noted that the Serb people and Republika Srpska choose the policies of Milorad Dodik, because they serve as a barrier to the interests of Sarajevo and Schmidt. "It is symptomatic that Izetbegović is going a step further and wants to interfere in internal affairs in Republika Srpska, and even within SNSD itself. Who is he to determine who is a desirable or undesirable president of SNSD?" Košarac asked. He assessed that it is very improper for Izetbegović to speak about such matters. "We do not comment on the situation in SDA, nor have we ever considered whether it is desirable or not for Bakir to be at its helm. That does not interest us," Košarac stated on Instagram. Underlining that Milorad Dodik is the undisputed president of SNSD, Košarac said that "Dodik is the president of all presidents in Republika Srpska, no matter how painful and undesirable that fact may be for Bakir, Sarajevo, and Schmidt." He noted that SNSD, under the leadership of Milorad Dodik, is the strongest and best-organized political party in Republika Srpska and BiH. "It would be incomparably better for Sarajevo politicians to learn about leadership and politics from leader Milorad Dodik, instead of trying on a daily basis to court voters through populism," Košarac concluded.
