DODIK: WE SHOULD AFFIRM OUR RIGHT TO SELF-DETERMINATION
BIJELJINA, JANUARY 24 /SRNA/ – SNSD Leader Milorad Dodik told SRNA that Republika Srpska should decide whether it will remain within the Dayton Peace Agreement or withdraw its consent from that agreement, which continues to dismantle by the latest decision of the incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH.
"I am calling for dialogue within Republika Srpska and for us to withdraw from that agreement, from that Constitution. One can discuss the future of BiH, but above all, Srpska must affirm its right to self-determination, which is granted to it by the Constitution of BiH and the UN Charter," Dodik said. He pointed out that the current rulers of Europe do not allow this topic to be discussed, but that Republika Srpska has the right to self-determination and that this is something that should be considered and used. "Republika Srpska has been fighting all these years to realize its right to self-determination and its right to have the Dayton Peace Agreement respected to the letter. This agreement has been dismantled, of course, through the activities of the Biden administration and liberal Brussels," Dodik said. He stressed that the new decision of the incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH, which has no right whatsoever to deal with the manner of electing the Republika Srpska Government, also shows a readiness to abuse law and agreements in order to impose new decisions meant to burden Srpska. "This time must be interpreted correctly, and Republika Srpska must decide whether it will remain within the Dayton Peace Agreement or withdraw its consent from that agreement, " Dodik said. He stated that Republika Srpska brought its independence into the Dayton-based BiH. "Republika Srpska was formed on January 9 as an independent state outside of BiH. We did not recognise that BiH even then, and we never will. We accepted the Dayton-based BiH, but it has been dismantled through insidious operations aimed at destroying our subjectivity," Dodik said. He emphasized that this has been done gradually, case by case. "From attempts to declare our entire wartime leadership collectively responsible for suffering, while the suffering of Serbs is not recognized, to various violations of the Constitution, the imposition of laws, the use and abuse of the OHR and the Constitutional Court of BiH, they have reached the shameful fact that, on the basis of a decision, they are putting the president of Republika Srpska on trial," Dodik pointed out. He added that all of this is now continuing through the abuse of the incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH, where decisions by three foreign judges and two Muslim judges lead to a situation in which something is once again being imposed on Republika Srpska. "That is not the Dayton Peace Agreement, that is not the essence of the Dayton, that is not the essence of the Constitution of BiH, which Republika Srpska cannot accept," Dodik concluded.
